PhilDev’s SuperFund Scholarships now open for applications

    The SuperFund Scholarships for Science and Engineering was established to encourage more bright Filipinos to pursue degrees in science and engineering (S&E), in response to the country’s need for innovations and investments in technology to accelerate national development. The SuperFund is funded through generous contributions of the Philippine private sector, and administered by the Philippine Development Foundation (PhilDev), in partnership with universities nationwide.


    • Top 5% of high school graduating class
    • Admitted to a SuperFund partner university. For SY 2012, partner universities are the eight ERDT Universities (Ateneo de Manila, Central Luzon State, De La Salle, Mapua Institue of Technology, Mindanao State University – Iligan, University of the Philippines – Diliman and Los Baños, and University of San Carlos). Other universities may be considered on a case-to-case basis.
    • Pursuing a science or engineering degree.
    • Filipino citizen, without pending immigration application to any foreign country.
    • Good mental, physical, and emotional health.
    • Good moral character.
    • Incoming second year students with a GPA equivalent to B, without any failing grades in any course, may be considered.


    • P1,000,000 per scholar for five years
    • Provision for living allowances and stipend, books, supplies, dormitory fees, health and group insurance, transportation, and other relevant expenses
    • Mentorship
    • Guaranteed employment upon graduation
    • Sponsored summer internships
    • Annual Camps and Retreats


    • Scholarship application used by partner university
    • Resume or Curriculum Vitae of candidate
    • Official transcript of records, authenticated by high school
    • Written certification from the applicant’s high school principal on the applicant’s status of being in the top 5% of their graduating class
    • Certificate of good moral character written by the applicant’s principal or guidance counselor
    • 2 x 2 photograph, taken within a month of scholarship application
    • Statement from the applicant’s parents or guardian indicating that the applicant has not applied as a resident or immigrant in any foreign country
    • NSO copy of birth certificate
    • Health certificate accomplished by a PhilDev-accredited doctor
    • Parents’ most recent income tax return
    • Disclosure of possible conflict of interest (immediate and extended familial relation to any PhilDev staff and board member, donor company executive and employee, Partner University administrator and employee, and other institutions involved in the screening and selection of SuperFund Scholars)

    Applications must be submitted to the scholarships office of the universities to which the student has been admitted.

      good day sir .. i’m from MSU-IIT currently taking bs metallurgical engineering 2nd year .. can i still avail this scholarship even if i have an incomplete grade last semester. where can we get the application form? is it available ?online
